Ahhhh Summer!

So… You were probably hoping to land on a page featuring pictures of really hot women, but instead we are going to take this opportunity to tell you why we love summer (maybe, just maybe there will be some additional pictures at the bottom from the photoshoot with our model on the banner).

In simple terms, summer is the reason why we exist as a company today. Our love for wakeboarding, boating, and all things revolving around sunny skies and water have led us where we are today. Summer makes us happy and from time to time we chase endless summer. Random events of awesomeness often occur during the summer, for this we offer praise to the sun. In fact, this video below is a good statement of all things summer:

Oh summer we love thee.

Wakeology exists because we love and enjoy wakeboarding, which of course, generally happens during the summer. We do have crazies in the family that enjoy (Ummm… maybe not enjoy but endure) winter sets, and the spring and fall have provided us great shredding over the years, but summer, SUMMER, is always the height of the Wakeboard Season.

Even Wikipedia makes summer sound nice:

Summer is the warmest of the four temperate seasons, between spring and autumn. At the summer solstice, the days are longest and the nights are shortest, with day-length decreasing as the season progresses after the solstice. The date of the beginning of summer varies according to climate, culture, and tradition, but when it is summer in the southern hemisphere it is winter in the northern hemisphere, and vice versa.

In most countries children are out of school during this time of year for summer break, although dates vary. In the Northern hemisphere, some begin as early as mid-May, although in England and Wales school ends in mid- to late July. In the Southern hemisphere, school holiday dates include the major holidays of Christmas and New Year’s Day. Summer school holidays in Australia begin a few weeks before Christmas and end in late January to mid-February, with the dates varying in different states.

Activities
People take advantage of the warmer temperatures by spending more time outdoors during the summer. Activities such as traveling to the beach and picnics occur during summer months. Sports such as cricket, volleyball, skateboarding, baseball, softball, tennis and water polo are played. Water sports also occur. These include water skiing, wake boarding, and tubing. Water skiing is a uniquely summer sport, which is done when waters approach their warmest of the year.

EWC Weekend

It was an eventful weekend for the EWC. Three riders traveled to Arkansas to ride in the Arkansas INT competition, Gavin Morgan was the only one to ride on the first day because the others (Christian Amos, Austin Chaney and our main supporter Todd “the mom” Simonetti) had prior engagements to attend to. After a long night of driving and dealing with a belligerent drunk guy at the hotel pool (because the pool was “only five feet deep”), the rest of the EWC met up with Gavin to compete in day two of the competition. Even after the crazy night we had, we woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning ready to ride! It was a solid day for three of us as we all rode well and ended up on the podium. Gavin Morgan got first place on the first day, and got second place on the second day in Men’s Intermediate. Christian Amos, riding Alex Myers board, placed third in Men’s Novice and Austin Chaney placed first in Men’s Entro Division with Todd “Mom” Simonetti supporting the whole time. It was a great weekend for the EWC and Wakeology alike! We can’t wait to ride and represent at the next competition.

Hey Shredders!

I hope you are having a great season! I am cherishing every set after suffering a season ending injury @ Wake Games last year just a week before getting my new Wakeology board. I am not back to throwing inverts yet, as a few set backs have been experienced. But, I am having a great time getting to know my shred stick. And I gotta tell ya…I am “stoked on the Stoke”! This board rides amazing with great pop and buttery smooth landings, which my knees are very happy about!
